Yes. Blooma’s mission has always been and remains the empowerment of all people; in 2007, we started our work in the Twin Cities to support and uplift all types of families and all types of birth choices. We acknowledge the beautiful linguistic, racial & cultural diversity in the Twin Cities; we also acknowledge the gaps in accessibility to healthcare & wellness services that lead to health disparities that primarily affect women of color.
We’re deeply committed to the work of closing those gaps. In order to expand accessibility to yoga, scholarships are available. If you are interested in applying for financial assistance please fill out our application here.
Completion of the training does not guarantee a job, however, we are often hiring at Blooma and looking for passionate, experienced, dedicated individuals. At the completion of your training, if you are interested in working at Blooma, you can email info@blooma.com for more information.
Amy Kelley (she/her) has over 10 years of experience in the birth world. She has had a passion for the medical world from a young age and pursued the Pre-Med program at the University of St. Thomas. After working in the Emergency Department at Mercy Hospital for 3 years it became clear she wanted to help and support people but in a different way. Amy is currently an active birth doula, pre and postnatal yoga instructor, and childbirth educator.
She has led new parent groups at Blooma for the last 5 years which continues to remind her how important it is to provide a safe, comfortable space for new parents to share their unique postpartum experience. Amy completed her training with Gail Tully in 2018 and became a Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator. In 2020 Amy studied with Evergreen Perinatal Education to complete her certification in lactation education. Amy most recently became a certified Body Ready Method pro® in Spring of 2023.
Amy’s classes focus on connection to community and self. Her hope is to teach all bodies that through movement and awareness we can achieve a more balanced place physically and emotionally.
